The Jesus, Preacher and The Servant
John chapter 13.
Who is the disciple and who is the servant? the preacher or members of the congregation? If you are a preacher, you may call yourself a disciple, and the church member, the servant. Well, my question is, who is washing who's feet?
Most preachers now have some form income producing gimmick out there. Movie directors, authors, business managers, bankers, realtors and much more. These are supported by the servants they serve. I heard a servant, at the site of her preacher on television, while at work; proudly stated, " that's my preacher". The sad part of this, the servant did not have a penny to put down for his/ her treatment while visiting the treatment center. On the other hand, their income was going to the televised, high profile preacher on television. They are washing the disciple's feet instead of the reverse that Christ told them.
We call them spiritual leaders, they are more respected than the politician. Politicians turn to then for advice. Politicians parade these disciples' mega facilities for voters. Politic and church? What a heck. They seem to claim to be as powerful as Christ Himself, because they claim to have a direct number to Christ, whom they claim favored their prayers.
Why are these preachers not following Christ's teaching? Because the think like Peter who said,
“Lord, are You washing my feet?
You shall never wash my feet!
Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head!”
Selfish, they want it all, and want to hog it all. They want it from here and after.
Please remember the words of Christ when you illicit the help of these high profile so-called men of God's help and they turn you down. In His words;
Jesus Washes the Disciples’ Feet. He also said this,
when He had washed their feet, taken His garments, and sat down again, He said to them, “Do you know what I have done to you? 13 You call Me Teacher and Lord, and you say well, for so I am. 14 If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet. 15 For I have given you an example, that you should do as I have done to you. 16 Most assuredly, I say to you, a servant is not greater than his master; nor is he who is sent greater than he who sent him. 17 If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them........"Who is the disciple and who is the servant? the preacher or members of the congregation? Christian, Divorcees, Singles and Sexuality.
1 Corin. 7:8 To the unmarried and widows I say that it is best for them to remain as I am. 9 But if they do not have self-control, let them get married. For it is better to marry than to burn with sexual desire.
We live in the a nation of Bible Fanatics. People who defy all the elements of the bible to adapt those that suits their purpose, then use those to manipulate the society or their followers in the name of God.Jim Jones used the same system to poison a number of his believers. Now we have congregations that are full of Divorcees, Singles, with roving eyes and sexual desires on their minds.
Lately, quite a few famous, So-Called Bishops, Elders, or Preachers have featured in Divorced situations, while others, accused of molesting children. I can imagine, with so many single ladies, available in these congregations, and at these preachers' disposal, it is possible to divorce and indulge in the societal norms. The molestation issue, on the other hand, with ample free samples from the flock, some chose to explore the forbidden territory.
What has become of the society we live in? To most it is better to claim to be a christian when it suits our purpose while we live a pleasure principled life style. Just in case, there is a God, they are covered, but if there's no God, they have lived a fulfilling life. Sheep, following a blind shepherd will all perish, over the cliff, and plunge, all to their death.
A society without morals is a dysfunctional society. A religious organization that defy biblical values to appease it members or to increase membership, although may prosper, but the mold within will one day expose the truth.
